I started doing Pilates in 2002 because I had heard so much about it and how it could change people’s bodies. After my first lesson I was immediately hooked. In addition to walking regularly, I began doing Pilates two times a week. After several months of committed practice, I realized I was in the best shape I had been in since I was a swimmer in high school. My posture had completely changed, I felt so strong and I was moving through the world with more grace.

Not only did Pilates change my body, but it changed the way I moved and how I felt about being in my own skin.  That was when I knew I wanted to teach so that I too, could help people change their bodies and the way they functioned in their daily lives.

I completed 700 hours of comprehensive training in the classical approach of Pilates in Seattle in 2010. This included the full spectrum of exercises in the Pilates system on all apparatus and equipment. I am very passionate about Pilates — I think it is the most efficient form of exercise out there and I love teaching it!

My space is equipped with Peak Pilates equipment. It is bright, peaceful, and specifically designed to be a rejuvenating haven for my clients, helping them get away from their busy and stressful world, even if just for a while. I can also teach you in the privacy of your own home, on your own Pilates equipment.

In 2011 I became a massage therapist, specializing in Myofascial Release (MFR).  The combination of both Pilates and MFR is amazing in facilitating greater ease of movement.

I look forward to hearing from you!  ~ Karen
